Fewer adaptations after moving up to G5
Many of Monitor’s customers that currently use G4 can look forward to no longer having to use their adaptations. This is mainly because it’s become easier to build your own documents and reports in G5 – there are lots of specially-built, customer-specific solutions that can now be created yourself.
Monitor G5 is an entirely new system which is constructed in a new, smarter way, from the ground up. This means many of the customer adaptations developed over the years with G4 are no longer needed in G5. Above all, there is less reliance on customized documents after an upgrade. This includes order confirmations, purchase orders, transport labels and delivery notes.
“Of the customers upgrading to G5 during 2021 who had adaptations before the upgrade, around 80 percent could manage without them completely after moving up. This shows that G5 is an extremely powerful standard system with a high basic level,” says Morgan Persson, CEO of Monitor ERP System.
They’ll get a cheaper ERP system with more functionality. Quite simply more system for their money.
Another change is that's it’s now easy to make changes in different reports. Columns can be moved and replaced, and new ones added to create the report just the way you want it. If, for example, you want to view sales statistics for a part, sorted by the part’s color, you can enter the color in an extra field, which can be included in the Invoicing log column, and sort as required.
What do all these changes mean in practice for customers who upgrade to G5?
“It means they’ll get a cheaper ERP system with more functionality. Quite simply more system for their money. They’ll also get a far more sustainable system where everything keeps pace with the ongoing updates and improvements we make,” Morgan adds.
What does less demand for adaptations mean for Monitor?
“In the longer term it means we can transfer resources from our Adaptation department over to Development, which will give us greater muscle to keep developing Monitor G5, so we can continue to deliver the best and most powerful ERP system for manufacturing companies,” he adds.
