Monitor ERP System launches Sustainability by Monitor, cutting-edge environmental functionality
Hudiksvall-based Monitor, which specializes in ERP systems for the manufacturing industry, is breaking new ground in sustainability with the launch of its latest environmental functionality, Sustainability by Monitor. This unique functionality, which is the first of its kind among competitors, will help companies measure their environmental impact, evaluate the results and take strategic measures to reduce emissions and resource consumption.
Environmental standards are higher than ever in today’s industrial landscape. In order to compete in a global market, companies now also need to be able to compete when it comes to emissions data, in addition to price and delivery time. This is why Monitor developed Sustainability by Monitor, which helps companies to measure their environmental impact, evaluate the results and take strategic measures to reduce emissions and consumption of resources.
Monitor is leading the way among its competitors in implementing this type of environmental functionality. The company holds a 40% share of the Swedish industrial market, which means it can make a difference to how Sweden performs in this area in the form of reduced climate impact. This will have a ripple effect across the supply chain, as everyone will strive to make smarter and more sustainable choices. And with 5,000 customers worldwide, Monitor also hopes to make an impact globally.
“The EU directive, CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), means that even small and medium-sized companies will have to prepare sustainability reports according to the new reporting standard, ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards), as of 2026. By supplementing data already contained in the ERP system with information on energy consumption and carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e), Monitor ERP can calculate your carbon footprint at component level, and help structure emissions at company level (according to Scope 1, 2 and 3).
By making CO2e visible on raw materials, distributors, machines and the factory’s total emissions, companies can evaluate their operations and take strategic measures to reduce emissions and resource consumption,” explained Maria Flöjt, Business Development at Monitor ERP System.
Through close collaboration with its customers, Monitor has developed Sustainability by Monitor, which meets companies’ unique needs in the best way, with four companies piloting the functionality. One of these is National Halmstad, which specializes in the manufacture of high-quality rubber, plastic and fiber products.
“The greatest benefit of Sustainability by Monitor is that it helps us to identify product groups that have the greatest impact on CO2e, which then gives us the opportunity to find room for improvement. Having comprehensive sustainability information compiled in one place makes data collection efficient and transparent. This gives us peace of mind,” said Daniel Cervin, Quality and Environmental Manager at National.
“We hope Sustainability by Monitor will help our users to reduce their environmental emissions, and that this will have a positive impact on the environment. We’re proud that we can help contribute to a better world through our new environmental functionality, Sustainability by Monitor, and we hope that other companies will join us on this journey,” added Maria.
